STOURPORT Ladies first XI maintain their undefeated record last weekend after a top of the table clash against Olton Ladies 1st XI resulted in a 5-2 win.
A penalty corner early in the first half against Olton allowed Lorna Mackenzie to convert her first National League Goal. Olton countered with two consecutive penalty corners that resulted in a penalty stroke, with Sally Walton dragging it straight over the keeper, leading to a 1-1 draw at half time.
Stourport started the second half aggressively and some impressive link-up play from Lora Symonds and Sarah Parkinson-Mills led to another penalty corner for Stourport in which Symonds slipped past the keeper to make it 2-1. Kirsty Imm then succeeded in finding the net after being fed a ball from deep making it 3-1.
Olton managed to give away a stroke after some sloppy defending in the circle and Lora Symonds slotted it past the keeper to make it 4-1 with 20 minutes still to go. Parkinson-Mills finally gets on the score sheet after Imm passes her the ball in front of the goal – 5-1 with 7 minutes left. Olton finally answered Stourport’s overwhelming pressure with a last minute corner in which they converted making the final score 5-2 to Stourport.
