Wyre Forest Phoenix Flyers 7 - 0 Coventry Girls Development

Despite fielding just ten players, the under 16 girls were more than a match for their opponents. Good passing was the key to Wyre Forest's first chance, a shot over the bar after eight minutes.

Five minutes later Sydney Harris scored after beating four players and Charlotte Morris added a second halfway through the first half.

Just two minutes after the restart Ellie Jones found the net for a third and after 16 minutes Sydney Harris made another run, crossing to Fleur Connolly in the middle to shoot from distance and to score.

Harris added another with a curling shot from the wing and then played in Erin Price for her goal five minutes later.

Injury reduced the Flyers to nine players six minutes from the end and just before full time the ball fell to Fleur Connolly in the middle, she shot with a drive in to the ground and the ball bounced in front of the Coventry keeper and slipped through her hands to find the back of the net.

Areley Kings 1 - 4 Wyre Forest Phoenix

It took 15 minutes for WFP to break the deadlock after good link up play from Chloe Whyley, Laura Edwards and Chelsea Mudge to set up Lisa Preece to fire in from close range.

Areley pressed hard to try and get back into the game but the defensive team of Amy Rutland, Eilidh Shakespeare and Nancy Sylvester kept them at bay.

Sadie Brown, on right midfield, created space to supply Preece on 26 minutes, who this time set up player of the match Chelsea Mudge to double the lead, which they held to half time.

A couple of changes for the second half introduced Kirsten Oliver and new signing Gee Howells.

Areley keeper Tracy Evans was in fine form saving and parrying shots, at one stage getting beaten only to see the ball rebound of the cross bar and clear away.

Eventually Areley pressure paid off though when a defensive error saw WFP concede an own goal. Five minutes later though and WFP extended their lead back to two when Jodie Boraston got her first goal of the season, heading in at the back post from a free kick by Oliver.

On the 85th minute, Brown turned her defender in the box, unleashed her shot which was parried by keeper Evans straight to Mudge who smashed it in and made certain of all three points.
