STOURPORT ladies first XI secured another season in the National Indoor League, when they won two and lost two in the Indoor competition last weekend at Nottingham University.

Despite goals from Katie Miller, Lorna MacKenzie, Alex Worrallo, and Lora Symonds the ladies lost to Beeston in their first match 5-4. On day two the ladies beat Durham University 4-1 with goals from Sarah Cavendish, and a hat-trick from Symonds.

They followed this with a 7-2 win over Wakefield which saw braces from Mackenzie, Sophie Thompson and Esme Gibson plus a single goal from Symonds.

In their last match though the ladies threw away a three goal lead to lose 4-3 to Gloucester City. The Stourport goalscorers were Thompson and Cavendish (2).

The ladies will now play in Division 2 of the National League Indoor in two weeks time.

Before that they will be entertaining Harborne first XI with a 4.30pm hit back this weekend.

Meanwhile in their mid season friendly at The Kingsway against visitors Edgbaston, Stourport men's second XI were narrowly defeated 3-2, Adam Leeke scored twice for the hosts.
