ATHLETES from the Triathlon Stourport and Kidderminster Club (TRiKS) cleaned up at the Top Bar duathlon.

The event was held at the Lakeside Campus, formerly known as Top Barn last Sunday, and saw Commonwealth gold medallist Jodie Stimpson line up at the start.

She was the hot favourite to take the overall win which she did in some style, winning the open women’s event by over four minutes ahead of TRiKS veteran Jaqui Phillips, who was the next female home after the Commonwealth champion.

TRiKS members also walked away with most of the medals, Tom Kenderdine was the first in the male Vet 40 category in 1.14.51.

Jacqui Phillips took the first female Vet 50 in 1.16.16, Steve Hatch was third in the male Vet 40 in 1.17.40, Caroline Cresswell was second in the female Vet 50 in 1.23.16 and Steve Moore was fourth in the male Vet 50 rankings in 1.28.24.

Mark Phillips, TRiKS chairman, said: “It was a really good event.

“It was also great to see Jodie (Stimpson) racing. It is great to be able to test yourself against someone of that calibre.”
