ST JOHN'S E sit top of the Premier Division, a point above their nearest rivals, thanks to a 4-1 away victory against Pockets D. Andy Grose opened up with a win to give the home team a good start but that proved to be the only victory for them all night. Wins for James Allington, Martin Lippitt, Paddy Kean and finally Ken and Jake in the doubles saw the E side triumphant at the end of the night.

Their nearest rivals and last year's winners, Pockets E, were victorious against Chester Road in a close match. The hosts took the lead through Neil Chapman before the E side took three unanswered frames with wins for Wayne Dobson, John Betton and John and Tom in the doubles. Ray Pugh salvaged the last frame of the night for the hosts with a very well compiled 53 break. The E side now sit one point off St John's with a game in hand.

Pockets B and Pockets S sit a point behind Pockets E after both teams won 4-1 this week.

The B side were hosted by league strugglers Cookley. The away side were victorious after wins for Andy Smith, Gareth Ward, Tony Kidd and Smith an d Kidd in the doubles, Lee Bushell salvaged a point for the home team.

Pockets S were hosted by St John's D. Charles Newey gave the visitors the lead before Roy Dickinson drew the hosts level.The S team went on to take the three remaining frames, with wins for Phil Dunn, Mel Wilson and then doubles victory for Newey and Dunn. The last two frames of the night were won on the black with Mel Wilson winning his frame when his opponent went in off on a respotted black.

Runaway League 1 leaders Wribbenhall remain top despite suffering a 2-3 home loss at the hands of Legion. The hosts went 3-0 down after the away side's Liam Carter, Liam Baker and Jon Carter were all victorious. Jon Roberts then won his singles, and in partnership with Gary Smith, clinched the doubles to salvage the last two frames.

Pockets G moved up into second in the table with a 3-2 win at fellow chasers Workmens A. Kev Stanley got the visitors off to a good start taking the opener before Andrew Brookes and Colin Moore wrestled the tie to the advantage of the home side. Not to be out done, Mark Donovan won his singles and then in partnership with Kev Stanley, the away side flipped the tie once more to take the victory.

St George's joined Pockets G and Workmens A, all on 31 points, with a 3-2 win against 3 Lions. Ken Humphries opened with a win for the visitors, before Ian Baker levelled for the hosts, quickly followed by Geoff Unitt to put the home side in front. The tie then got turned to the advantage of the away side with a singles and doubles win for Azim Riaz, in partnership with Ken Humphries.

St John's C sit at the foot of the table after suffering an 2-3 home loss to Workmens B. John Farrey and Aidrian Palmer opened up well with victories for the hosts but the visitors then took three unanswered frames, with wins for Jim Holloway, Colin McMurray and the doubles pairing of Terry Spencer and Peter Smyth sealing the victory.
