OLIVIA Turner added another medal to her collection with bronze at the North-West Age Bands in Blackburn.

Two excellent wins including more points towards her black belt put Olivia into the semi-finals, where she was dominating the contest before being caught by a good throw against the run of play.

However, she came back well to win the bronze medal in her last contest.

Nathan Gallacher also collected more points towards his black belt and scored perhaps the best throw of the entire tournament in one of his three wins on his way to fifth place in his category, just missing out on bronze.

Leah Grosvenor also finished fifth. She cruised to the semi-finals of her category where she was up against the eventual gold medalist, who she had beaten decisively at the English Open recently, where she won bronze.

This time she dominated the early exchanges and was a penalty up when she was caught by an excellent throw from the Londoner. Leah was up against another Londoner for the bronze, and just missed out in a close contest.

A few of the lower level players have received grade promotions. Harry Ashen gained his orange belt, whilst Harley White, after a stunning performance and gold medal at the recent Mini-Me Open, moved to yellow belt.

Rhea Turner moved up to top red belt, whilst newcomers Isla Tallon and Thea Kent both gained their first grades.
