IT was almost a hat-trick of wins for Stourport Hockey Club’s ladies this weekend although the fourths sealed the Worcestershire second division with a draw.
Stourport’s fourth XI finished top of the division by a single point after the 3-3 draw with their visitors – Harborne fourths.
Harborne who finished second in the division, went 1-0 ahead before Lou Marshall pulled it back to 1-1, before the break.
In the second half, Harborne retook the lead, and then added a third to make it 3-1, before Stourport pulled two goals back to steal a draw and the championship, by the finest of margins, from their visitors.
In their final match of the season, the seconds travelled to Matlock Baileans, and won 3-1. The match leaves them with a sixth place finish in Midland Division 1.
An Abbie Yapp hat trick helped the thirds complete their Worcestershire first division campaign, with a 4-3 victory over their hosts Bromsgrove seconds – despite the fact that the visitors had been 2-0 down at half time.
