Bewdley 209-6 (20 pts) beat Pedmore 66 (2 pts) by 143 runs

BEWDLEY recorded a crushing victory at Pedmore.

Asked to bat on a tricky pitch after a week of rain, Bewdley were satisfied with their total of 209-6. Although most of the early batsmen made a start none of them were able to contribute a substantial score. However, from 110-5 after 31 overs a partnership of 78 between Mike Harris and Robert Crane took Bewdley to a respectable total.

Crane (36) was his usual enterprising self, and Harris (58 not out) dominated the stand with a mixture of flair and stout defence.

Pedmore's pursuit of their target never really got off the ground. Andy Platt and Martyn Carr made early inroads, and Jack Mills (5-6) continued his fruitful season with another five wicket haul.

Only two Pedmore batsmen reached double figures, and the innings was over in the 23rd over.

Worcester's defeat at Hagley means that Bewdley now top the table, though only by a single point. They entertain in form Redditch on Saturday.
