COOKLEY moved up to second place in Division One of the Worcestershire County League with victory at Worcester.

Former league leaders Worcester made a good start to get to 88-2, both wickets falling to Aussie Jack McVey, before Danny Soley produced a devastating spell of 5-30 to get the Villagers out of jail and bowl Worcester out for just 151.

Jaimen Rudd (72 not out) and Simon Cook, knocking an unbeaten 65 when making a first team appearance for the first time in two years, sealed an emphatic victory.

Cookley will look to continue their fine form when they welcome second-from-bottom side Droitwich this Saturday (1pm start).

Meanwhile, Cookley seconds bagged in 145-run win over Wormelow.

Matty Goode (94), veteran John Martin (53), and a quick fire 46 from Callum Parker helped them to a very fine 282-7.

Wormelow finished well short being bowled out for 133 with pick of the bowlers being Tom Pinder with 3-16.

The thirds, however, lost by nine wickets at Coombs Wood after being bowled out for just 82.
