KIDDERMINSTER'S Claire Cashmore had to settle with a sixth-placed finish at the Paratriathlon World Championships in Rotterdam after crashing out on the bike leg.
Cashmore, who was award an MBE after bringing home swimming gold and silver medals from the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, has recently swapped the pool for paratriathlon and enjoyed immediate success to secure her place in the GB squad.
However, a crash on the bike leg in wet conditions meant she could only finish sixth in the PTS5 women's race in a time of 1.21.38.
Team-mate Lauren Steadman bagged silver in the same race with a time of 1.09.53 as Cashmore showed her determination to battle her way to the end despite being well behind after her dramatic crash.
