KIDDERMINSTER Cricket Club succumbed to an almost inevitable fate and crashed out of the Birmingham League's premier division.

KCC, who have lost 16 of their 22 league fixtures this season, won the toss and elected to field in their final match against Dorridge.

They made a good start and took the first two wickets for 42 runs.

Dorridge then turned on the style, they reached 114 at the 25 over mark, skipper David Ball (69) and Aqeel Ahmed (59) were aided by 42 runs from Ali Ebad.

The bowling was at times poor with only Connor Smith (3-62) making an impact. Keeper Tom Kimberlin was in good form, taking four catches.

Dorridge completed their 50 overs on 283-7.

The Kidderminster innings started badly, they lost six wickets for only 64 runs however Kimberlin and opening bowler Liam Weston offered resistance with a good stand of 160 inside 26 overs.

Liam Weston (79) struck eight fours and three sixes before being caught and Tom Kimberlin (93) was bowled having hit ten fours and three sixes.

The duo's efforts were in vain, Kidderminster were bowled out for 240 in 45.4 overs.

The result means relegation to division one for the club next season.
