STOURPORT Hockey Club's ladies first XI go into this weekend's National League West trip to Swansea on the back of a 0-0 draw at home against Gloucester last weekend.

Stourport started strongly, receiving a short corner which they were unable to convert. As the half progressed Stourport continued to pile on the pressure but the Gloucester keeper was in great form and denied the hosts a goal.

Stourport defenders Katie Robinson, Hannah Corcoran, Lorna Mackenzie and Katie Miller took control of their line to keep out the visitors.

The second half saw more chances for the home side from a number of short corners but Gloucester packed their defence and made it difficult for Stourport to find any space to exploit.

The ladies second XI picked up their first win of their Midland Division 1 season with a 1-0 victory over visitors Matlock first XI. The winning score was a rare goal by Jade Marshall-Walker from a short corner, the result leaves the seconds unbeaten in four matches.

Meanwhile in the Worcestershire first division the ladies fourth XI had no fixture while the thirds beat their hosts Harborne 3rd's 3-0, thanks to a Jodi Edwards hat trick.

In a late 6Pm hit back, Stourport ladies 1st XI, fought out a goalless draw with their visitors to 'The Kingsway,' Gloucester 1st XI in their National League West match last weekend.
