A PAIR of golden Wolverley kickboxers have become world champions after claiming 11 medals between them.
Emily Pitt, 17, and 12-year-old Cieran Carroll, who train at the Wolverley Memorial Hall-based Eclipse Martial Arts, competed at the ICO World Cup Championships in Solihull at the weekend.
As well as claiming almost a dozen medals between them, the youngsters won a pair of gold medals – and the title of world champion.
Emily took gold in her weapons kata section (with nunchakus), and in the in 18 to 35 age category’s weapons kata section (with nunchakus).
She also claimed bronze medals in her points fighting section, light contact kickboxing section, the 18 to 35 points fighting section, and the 18 to 35 light contact kickboxing section.
Cieran won gold in both his full contact kickboxing section and the weapons kata section (with nunchakus), as well as silver in his light contact kickboxing section and the 13 to 17 age category full contact kickboxing section.
He completed his set of gold, silver and bronze medals with a bronze in his points fighting section.
