WYRE Forest Company of Archers member Jasmine Simpson finished the 2017 outdoor archery season off in style competing in the National Clout Championships and winning a second successive National Junior Clout title.
Clout archery is a long-distance shoot at a target laid out on the ground with a central flag, which is mounted on a short flag pole. Arrows landing within specified distances from the flag will score points. The scoring zone measures 24 feet in diameter and is split into 5 scoring zones.
The 16-year-old barebow archer secured her second Junior Girl National Barebow Champion title at Rawdon Meadows, Bradford in windy conditions where she shot the Double 1 Way Clout round at 120 yards with a winning score of 142.
Since moving from the under-16 to under-18 category in September, the Stourport High School student has beaten four of the under-18 national clout records and already holds all six of the under-16 clout records.
