BEWDLEY Town have boosted their ranks with the capture of defender Aaron Griffiths from Worcester City.

Town have brought in the former Harriers, Stourbridge, Lye and Halesowen left-sided player as he looks for more game time.

Griffiths, who can also play in midfield, will hand manager Phil Mullen more options ahead of Tuesday's Premier Cup clash at Hereford Lads Club.

The boss was pleased to get him on-board, saying: "He comes to us with great pedigree and can hopefully be a really good acquisition for us.

"He's not getting the games he'd like at Worcester City so we are more than happy to get him."

Bewdley's league game at home to Cradley last Saturday fell victim to heavy snowfall and they don't have a game this weekend.

Mullen hasn't let the weather get in the way of his preparations, however, and has moved training indoors this week.

"We've trained at Bewdley Leisure Centre and will also go to Baxter College," he explains. "It's frustrating not to play but everyone is in the same boat at the moment.

"The break does give a few knocks a chance to heal and we'll hopefully have a full quota of players to choose from in the cup next Tuesday.

"It'll be nice to have a selection headache for a change."

Bewdley are due to return to league action when they host Ellesmere Rangers at Ribbesford Meadow on December 23 (3pm kick-off).
