KIDDERMINSTER Carolians gave their chances of avoiding relegation a massive boost with their biggest win of the season.

The Marlpool Lane side delivered a 12-try treat for fans and climbed to ninth in Midlands 2 West (north) with one game to go.

KCs put visitors Tamworth to the sword with a 76-10 victory after a frenetic game where the hosts opened the scoring after six minutes with a try for hooker Ryan Wainwright which was converted by full-back Rhys Pritchard.

Four minutes later the lead was extended following a break by scrum-half Freddie Morgan, the ball went wide and back inside to fly-half Chris May-Miller for a second try.

Tamworth hit back with a try in the corner by right winger Jimmy Carroll but on twenty minutes KCs ran in their third when good hands by Morgan and Pritchard fed left winger Ryan Tiene who dodged a tackle to score and Pritchard added the extras.

KCs were on the attack again from the restart, Neil Mason, Jess Smith and Mike Protheroe combined to cause mayhem in Tamworth's back row and right winger James Barham looked sure to score before being tackled into touch five metres out.

From the lineout Kidderminster drove Tamworth back over their own line and Mason claimed the all-important bonus point try with just half an hour played.

A rampant KCs added another from Tiene before Tamworth scored through full-back Chris Lakin.

The home team had the final word in the half with a third for Tiene which was converted by Morgan to make the score 36-10 at the break.

The prolific Tiene was back for a fourth two minutes after the restart which was converted by Morgan and two more tries quickly followed.

Damaging surges by Mason and Smith set up rucks from which the ball went through the hands before Morgan touched down and added the extras to bring up the fifty points.

From the restart Mason made a forty metre charge to launch another dangerous attack and Tamworth were fortunate to dodge a yellow card when they prevented an almost certain score by knocking on a KC's pass.

The respite was brief, from the resulting scrum centre Ewan Thomson broke clear to touch down for the host's ninth try.

With the game won KCs slowed the pace and when Carroll broke down the right from a quickly taken Tamworth tap penalty it took a fine tackle by Pritchard to prevent a try.

This only sparked a devastating finale when KCs added three more tries from Tom Maher, Barham and a fifth for Tiene, Morgan converted each time to complete an emphatic win.

KCs round off their season next week with a trip to Veseyans (3pm).
