Lions roar to cup win

Winners: Kidderminster Lions under-12s savoured cup success.
Kidderminster Lions under-12s denied Stourport and District League champions Worcester Colts the double by clinching a well-earned 2-0 victory against the favourites in Saturday’s cup final.
Both teams battled hard in the final at Chainwire, but the Lions stuck to their strong passing game, which eventually gave them the upper hand.
Despite losing goalkeeper Liam Williams with a hand injury in the first-half, the defence stayed firm, midfield worked hard and attacker Liam Timms netted two super goals, earning him the man-of-the-match award.
The Colts are the only team to have beaten the Lions in league matches this season and the Kidderminster team, managed by Kev Griffiths, look set to hang onto the runners-up spot by the end of the season.
