Kylian Mbappe wants to help Paris St Germain break records as they close out yet another title-winning season.

PSG’s fifth Ligue 1 title in six years was secured in style with a 7-1 win over Monaco last week and Mbappe wants to carry on in a similar vein as they chase their own record tally of 96 points, set two years ago.

With five games remaining, Unai Emery’s side are on 87 – meaning three more wins will equal the record and four wins and a draw will make it an historic 100-point campaign.

“What motivates us today are the records we can chase,” Mbappe told the club’s website. “We are competitors and that is our motivation.

“We know the points record is not far away. We know we can make history, we will do what it takes to achieve that.”

Emery also called for no let-up from his side, who also reached the Coupe de France final with victory over Caen on Wednesday having already won the Coupe de la Ligue for the fifth straight year.

“We remain ambitious and motivated for every match. We want to maintain consistency,” he told the club’s website.

“It’s true that the objective is to win (the league) but afterwards you have to continue with the same spirit.

“Bordeaux have a beautiful stadium and they play good football. The supporters will get to see a good match.”

Lassana Diarra will miss the match while Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot will be assessed after sitting out Friday’s training session, but Layvin Kurzawa returns.

Bordeaux coach Gustavo Poyet has almost a full squad to choose from, aside from long-term absentees Alexandre Mendy and Jerome Prior.

And he said at a press conference broadcast on the club’s website: “Everyone wants to play!

“Those who won (3-1) last Sunday against Montpellier believe they deserve to play. Those who came on think they have earned their place. The players who did so well against Lyon say they deserve a place too.

“We will play in front of a full house and it will be different to the games week in and week out. It will be special for everyone.”

Emery took the opportunity during his press conference to pay tribute to Arsene Wenger, who will stand down as Arsenal manager in the summer after 22 seasons.

The Spaniard said: “Arsene Wenger is a reference in the world of football. He gave this sport inspiration. I’m an admirer of both the person and the coach.”
