Stourport Swifts 4, Shepshed Dynamo 1

TWO goals from Chris Morrison helped Swifts ease to victory over their Leicestershire opponents, But they were helped by some sloppy Dynamo defending with three of the goals coming from set-pieces.

Kieron Davies went close early on for the visitors but this just sparked the home side into action and they duly took the lead on 17 minutes. New signing Simon Fitter sent a free-kick into the area and Kevin Spencer was on hand to head home at the far post.

Morrison bagged his first of the afternoon on 28 minutes, producing a cool finish after some clever work from strike partner John Griffin.

And it was Morrison who made it 3-0 just moments into the second half, heading a Calvin Dinsley free-kick beyond the Shepshed keeper.

The visitors did try to claw their way back into the game and Haydn Whitcombe needed to produce two fine saves to deny Connor Bennett and Luke Edwards.

Substitute Lee Sutton did reduce the arrears direct from a free-kick on 57 minutes but Swifts never looked like relinquishing their lead.

Dinsley was denied by a good save before defender Jamie Willetts tapped home unchallenged from a corner a minute from the end.
