ROD Brown believes his Stourport Swifts are getting better following their 4-1 win over Shepshed.
It was only Swifts’ second Midland Alliance success of the season.
Brown said: “We played well the previous week against Loughborough and only got a draw, but the signs were there.
“The only disappointing thing is that it has taken the time is has to get here “Our problem from the outset has been up front, where John Griffin is only just getting to the place where he should be.
“But there’s still no sign of Lewis Pountney returning soon and I think we’re now looking at the end of October.
“He was given the all-clear to resume light training, but there’s been a setback”.
Chris Morrison converted twice against Shepshed with Kevin Spencer and Jamie Willetts also on target Brown is set to raid Evesham for midfield man Matt Williams.
Swifts look to make further progress in this season’s FA Vase on Saturday when they visit Bilston Town.
