ROD Brown has tipped Stourport Swift’s youngsters to get better.

The likes of Ollie Long and Luke Morris are the future of the club.

Morris is a product of Swifts’ youth team and has been drafted in because of a series on injuries and suspensions.

Long is currently sidelined but has done enough to impress Brown.

The manager said: “We’ve got some very good young players and I expected them to get better next season.

“It’s like Paul Hurrell, he’s really come on by playing regularly.”

Swifts squad is feeling the squeeze with Calvin Dinsley starting a two-match ban in Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Rocester and Jon Griffin also beginning a three-game suspension.

Brown is hoping to bolster his squad with several of Kidderminster Harrier youth team players.

He added: “Our first team is a match for anyone in this division and we’ve also got some very good players on the bench.

“But we need one or two lads in as back-up.”

On Saturday, Griffin bagged the winner at Rocester.

Swifts then welcomed them back to Walshes Meadow on Tuesday and ran out 3-0 winners.

The opening goal came on 26 minutes when Ashley Parsons-Smith volleyed home.

Swifts continued to dominate in the second half with Chris Morrison failing to take advantage.

Lewis Pountney made it 2-0 on 58 minutes when he volleyed home a rebound after good work by Morrison and Jordan Jones.

The scoring was complete 10 minutes later when Morrison headed home after Jamie Willets had hit the crossbar.

With skipper Gary Walker controlling the middle of the park, the visitors rarely threatened Sam Parker in the Stourport goal.

Stourport go to Coventry Sphinx on Saturday (3pm ko) and entertain AFC Wulfrunians on Tuesday (7.45pm ko) in the Midland Alliance.
