Boldmere St Michaels 0, Stourport Swifts 0

A DEPLETED Swifts side returned from title-chasing Boldmere with a share of the spoils.

In a game that rarely made it out of second gear, shots on target were few and far between – much to the relief of Stourport defender Jamie Willets who answered the emergency goalkeeper call for a second successive match.

The only chance of note in a dismal opening half was a long ball into the area by Ashley Parsons-Smith which was flicked on by Lewis Pountney but John Griffin – with just the keeper to beat – had strayed offside.

There was a slight improvement after the break with Mikes keeper Liam Maher finally being forced into action on the hour when he kept out a Griffin effort.

A minute later and Swifts created their best chance of the game when good work from Luke Morris ended with him sending Jordan Jones down the right. His cross found Griffin but the striker’s header sailed over the target.

Willets was given some solid protection from his backline but did have to make a handful of saves, the pick of which saw him deny Jordan Holmes.

With ten minutes remaining, the visitors had a chance to snatch victory but Calvin Dinsley’s fierce free-kick from outside the box was directed straight at the Boldmere keeper.
