Stourport Swifts 1, Brocton 3

Managerless Stourport’s wretched home form continued as they were beaten by lowly Brocton and had defender Jamie Willets sent off in the process.

Swifts last won at Walshes Meadow back in November and their dismal form has seen them slide down the table.

Brocton took just four minutes to open the scoring on Saturday, Gary Fife pouncing on a poor clearance from home keeper Brendan Bunn and firing the ball back into the net from 25 yards.

Stourport levelled five minutes before the interval when John Griffin ran on to a through ball and steered his shot beyond Calum Barrett in the visitors’ goal.

Barrett was then to play a key role for his side, keeping out a Griffin penalty early in the second half and then saving well from Ashley Parsons-Smith and Griffin.

And those missed opportunities proved vital as the visitors went on to take the points.

They regained the lead on 69 minutes when Carl Morris fed the nippy Sam Bell whose shot found the back of the net via the upright.

And Brocton made sure of victory four minutes from time when youngster Josh Wilson calmly made it 3-1.

To compound the situation, Willets saw red soon after when he picked up a second booking.
