MANAGER Mark Phillips will refuse to ring the changes after Stourport Swifts slumped to a 5-0 August Bank Holiday beating by early season leaders Westfields.

Phillps insisted: "We were the better side for the first half hour and it definitely wasn't a 5-0 result.

"Westfield scored with a far post header and then we immediately gave them a second goal when one of the defenders tried to dribble out of our own goalmouth and lost the ball.

"We were 2-0 down at half time and I wanted a reaction - but instead our goalkeeper dropped the ball from a corner for Westfields to make it 3-0 and left us chasing the game from that point.

"By 75 minutes, it was 5-0 and our heads dropped. Had anyone walked in at that point, they would have believed the scoreline as Westfields could have scored a couple more.

"It was naive defending by us and I've told the players afterwards that we must cut out the stupid errors.

"The ridiculous thing is we're playing well at the moment but goals change matches. We drew against Quorn last Saturday who were top of the table at the time but it was a game I thought we should have gone onto win especially as we missed a couple of really good chances."

Swifts look set to visit Alvechurch this Saturday in a rearranged Midland League game and Phillips claimed: "I'll probably make a couple of changes and maybe switch things around in attack, but it'll be nothing wholesale.

"I'm not looking to bring any new players in at the moment either. I see no point bringing in players just for the sake of it!"
