WORCESTER Warriors youngster Justin Clegg got on the scoreboard as England secured a hard-earned 34-22 win over Wales in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

The promising lock crashed over for his side’s first try as they registered their second win of the tournament in Georgia to put them in pole position in Pool A.

Will Butler came on in the second half and will hope to be in contention for a place to face Australia on Thursday.

England head coach Ian Vass said: "Overall you have to be pleased with a bonus point victory and I thought our boys worked really hard.

“We had some purple patches where we played some really good stuff and we had some periods where we defended really well.

"There probably wasn't a flow to the game and it wasn't the best looking game but in these pool stages it's all about getting through them."

Meanwhile, Warriors academy ace Tom Dodd came off the bench for Scotland as they clinched their first ever victory over Ireland, winning 32-28.

Scotland moved into second position in Pool B ahead of their clash with Italy on Thursday.
