A FIERY spell from Blair Kingsland inspired Worcester Warriors’ cricket team to a five-wicket win at Knighton-on-Teme in a Twenty20 clash.

Knighton’s Greg Powell blasted 25 early on before 24 from David Stroyd got the hosts into a promising position.

However, Kingsland ripped through the middle order with four wickets for one run in two overs.

Robbie James hit some lusty blows in an unbeaten 25 but Knighton were reduced to 96 all out thanks to two wickets apiece for Charlie Lincoln and Luke Summers.

Without key batsmen Sam Vesty and Gary Gold, Warriors slumped to 35-3 after 10 overs.

A fine partnership from Kingsland (21 not out) and Irishman David O’Hagan (16) got the visitors back on track.

The big-hitting Tom Vale put the game to bed with 22 not out from seven balls as Warriors secured their second win of the campaign with 25 deliveries remaining.
