HEAD of athletic performance Paddy Anson will be leaving Worcester Warriors this week to take up a role at English Institute of Sport (EIS) ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Anson joined the Aviva Premiership outfit in January as head of strength and conditioning before being promoted to his current position after just a few months in the job.

But the former Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester Rugby man will be making the move back to the EIS where he has worked before as part of the strength and conditioning team.

Anson said: "I have accepted a role with the English Institute of Sport's strength and conditioning team for the current Olympic cycle which is an exciting opportunity at this juncture in my professional coaching career.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Gary Gold, Carl Hogg, the board, the staff, the players and fans at Worcester Warriors for all their support during the short period that I have been at the club.

"I wish the team every success in the future."
