EXPERIENCED centre Wynand Olivier says Worcester Warriors won’t be underestimating the challenge from relegation rivals Bristol.

The Ashton Gate club might be bottom of the Aviva Premiership but they defeated Warriors 28-20 when the clubs locked horns on Boxing Day.

He insists Warriors must keep their discipline when the hugely-anticipated clash gets under way at Sixways at 3pm today.

Bristol kept their survival hopes alive with a hard-fought 12-11 victory against Bath last Sunday, while second-from-bottom Warriors slipped to a 24-14 defeat at Northampton Saints.

“There are just two points between the two sides,” said the Springbok, who wasn’t in Warriors’ squad for the festival showdown.

“Bristol played very well against Bath and we are not taking them lightly.

“We are not focusing on any other games or teams or how big it might be.

“It’s another game and whatever the atmosphere might be it’s exciting and we have to embrace it.

“I think it’s going to be quite a good game.”

Warriors were guilty of conceding 16 penalties at Franklin’s Gardens last Saturday and Olivier admits they can’t afford to be ill-disciplined this afternoon.

“We are trying to keep our penalty count down to a minimum because it helps if you play in the right areas of the field and not concede penalties,” he said.

“We have to focus on what we want to do, play in the right areas and keep the penalties down as much as possible.“

Olivier will form a centre partnership with Jackson Willison and the pair linked up well at Saints, particularly for Josh Adams’ early try which gave Warriors a flying start.

“We will be focusing on what we want to do, not what happened in the past,” he said.

“Sixways always treats us well so hopefully we can give the crowd something to shout about.”

“My first game for Warriors against Northampton Saints last season was a big one and we got the result and we also got the win against Saracens. This is another big one.”

Team-mate Bryce Heem thinks the relegation battle will continue until the end of the season regardless of which team is celebrating at 5pm.

Five games remain for each side after today's fixture.

“I think it will go down to the wire,” said Heem.

“Anyone on their day can beat anyone in this league.

“If we win, we won’t be getting too comfortable.”
