Bath running hot for Sixways visit

BATH are probably the best side in the country at the moment and they have won more games than anyone else.

They play fantastic rugby and will be very difficult to stop when they come to Sixways on Saturday.

They are full of confidence and are a very clinical side.

It is difficult to find a weak point in their squad - they are not a side full of star individuals, but they are still a very good team.

Michael Claasens and Butch James work well together at half-back behind a very strong forward pack.

The whole team work for each other and they run incredibly hard both in defence and attack. We will have to match that if we want to keep up with them.

Hopefully, they might be a bit tired having played Leicester on Tuesday night, but their squad has carried injuries well this year.

Our guys who were left out against Wasps needed a break after a massive few weeks of rugby.

I think it is a measure of the heart of our players who have played on through injuries this term.

We took on Bath in the first game of the season and didn't play well. But we have come a long way since then and have a lot more direction and understanding to our game now.

I have got a great relationship with Tom Wood and I have huge respect for his attitude and the way he conducts himself.

He works his socks off - he has a great work rate and his attitude towards his professional life is 100 per cent.

I think he is good enough to go on and play for England.

Playing in his position, you have to have a good head on your shoulders and he certainly has that.

The more people like Tom Wood we have in our squad, the better the Worcester side will be.

Tom and Drew Hickey have done each other a lot of good this season - they have brought the best out of each other.

Going to Wasps and winning was always going to be a big ask, not least because circumstances have dictated that we've not been able to rotate our squad as much as we would have liked this season.

At Adams Park, we had to throw in a number of youngsters who have not played too much together, but they are still young and it was a big stage in their development.

There has to be a time when these guys are blooded in the first team and they stood up to the task in a difficult situation.

Despite the result, there are plenty of positives for us to take from it.

Matt Cox got on the scoresheet, as did Matt Mullan, while Jonny Arr seems to get better with every game. Also, we believe Graham Kitchener will be a huge star in the future, so it was good to get him out there too.

Danny Cipriani ran the show for Wasps and he is a class act - it would be wonderful to have someone of his ability at Worcester after Shane Drahm has moved on at the end of this year.

I got to know him playing for England and not only is he a huge talent, but he's a decent bloke too.
