ALEXEI Kervezee hit a century for Worcestershire Seconds on the first day of their friendly against Sussex Seconds at Kidderminster.
Tom Fell, who is battling cancer, opened the innings and scored a majestic 41 from just 51 balls.
Alex Milton made 87 and Josh Tongue hit 50 not out as Worcestershire reached 398-9 declared in the three-day match.
But it was Kervezee who stole the show for Worcestershire, striking 16 fours and six in his 139-ball 111.
Milton struck nine fours and three sixes in his innings and Tongue’s quick-fire knock came from just 46 balls, containing seven fours and a six.
Sussex were 6-0 from three overs at the close of play.
Worcestershire’s opening bowlers Charlie Morris and Tongue will be looking to make early inroads into Sussex’s batting line-up when play resumes at 11am today.
