WORCESTERSHIRE Academy player Jack Haynes scored a superb century for the combined Midlands and North side on day two in the 'Best Of The Bunburys' match against the London-South East and South West side at Loughborough.

Haynes followed up his 63 in the first innings by making 124 before being run out as the Midlands-North set their opponents a 341 target.

He shared in an opening stand of 97 with S. Dorsey (39) and a third wicket partnership of 79 with R. Bell (27).

Haynes was fourth out with the total on 233 after striking two sixes and 14 fours in his 172 ball knock.

Worcestershire satellite academy player, Xavier Clarke, made 18 not out after his first innings score of 78 before the declaration at 266-6 from 69 overs.

London-South East and South West reached 26-0 in their second innings by the close.

In their first innings they had resumed on 61-2 but were bowled out for 150 in 47.4 overs with L. Botes returning 7-22.

Paceman Matt Davis, a member of Worcestershire's senior development of excellence programme which sits just beneath the academy programme, bowled six overs for 21 runs.

The Worcestershire trio were selected as a reward for their performances in the main Under-15s Bunbury Festival last month at Radley College when representing the Midlands.
