EMILY Clark is the toast of the Worcestershire Women Rapids Under-15s after taking FIVE wickets in one over.

Seam bowler Emily, aged 14, achieved the feat, in a 50-over match against Herefordshire Women Under-15s at Barnt Green.

Her remarkable sequence went wicket, wicket, wide, wicket, wicket, dot ball, wicket.

Emily's efforts were the highlight of Worcestershire's one-wicket win after they chased down a total of 144.

She is in her fifth year with Worcestershire, having made her debut for the under-11s against Oxfordshire in 2013.

Emily plays her club cricket for Old Elizabethans and is in year nine at Bromsgrove School.

Worcestershire Cricket Board game development officer, Sam Wyles, said: "It was a remarkable over by Emily and you don't see that sort of achievement occur very often at any level of the game.

"I believe she got to keep the match ball - and if she didn't we will certainly sort that out for her because it is the sort of achievement you will look back on with pride for many years to come.

"Emily is in her first year with the under-15s, having graduated from the under-13s, and is a very exciting bowler, a seam bowler who bowls stump to stump.”

To top the game off, Worcestershire managed to beat Herefordshire in a nail-biting finish.

Emily is one of several promising members of the under-15 squad who have developed their game under Kelly Evenson who is lead coach of the under-11, under-12 and under 13 sides.

Wyles said: "The hard work with the under-13s has paid off because the ones who came through this year (into the under-15s) have been stand-out performers.

"Kelly Evenson has started this off with the younger age groups and we are starting to see her first crop of players come through into the under-15s and under-17s.

"She is the lead coach for under-11s, under-12s and under-13s age groups. The work she has put in with these players, to the tactical and technical side of their game, has paid dividends."
