DARYL Mitchell was delighted to move into the top 10 of all-time century-makers for Worcestershire in first-class cricket.

The 34-year-old’s hundred on the opening day of the County Championship clash with Lancashire secured his place.

His 31st ton for the County put him alongside legends Basil D’Oliveira and Alan Ormrod in joint ninth.

Another today meant he joined Ron Headley and former director of cricket Tom Moody on 32 hundreds.

Mitchell said: “It’s not something you set out to do but the greats of Worcestershire cricket are on that list and it’s nice to get in and around some of them.

“It was Tom Graveney I went past last year, who is a huge name in Worcestershire cricket, and Basil is another one.

“It is pleasing to be up there around those sort of guys in terms of scoring hundreds and hopefully there are still a few more to come this year and in the next couple of years.”
