REMI Dibo has become the fifth new signing for Worcester Wolves ahead of the new season.

The 6ft 7ins French forward is the latest to join the University Arena side as they aim to follow up on last season’s double success in the British Basketball League.

Dibo joins from West Virginia University, where he averaged seven points and three rebounds per outing, including making more than a third of his shot attempts from outside the three-point line.

The 23-year-old represented the French national team at junior levels before continuing his education in the United States.

He said: “I am looking forward to this season and I hope to contribute to the success the Wolves are familiar with.

“I believe a great season is coming ahead of us and I’m going to work extremely hard to help make it happen.”

Dibo joins guards Sean Park and Chavis Holmes and centres Donatas Visockis and Robert Thurman in director of basketball Paul James’ new-look squad.

James, who has also kept four members of last year’s squad including captain Alex Owumi, said: “I’m very excited about the prospect of having Remi on the Wolves roster this coming season.

“He’s going to be a very exciting player to watch in the BBL. He has many tools and is a tremendous athlete.

“I’m sure he is going to put them to good use for the Wolves.”
