WORCESTER Wolves held on for a nail-biting 86-85 victory over Plymouth Raiders at the University Arena tonight.

The thrilling British Basketball League encounter went down to the wire with the game still in the balance with just 5.6 seconds remaining on the clock.

At that stage, a foul from Jamal Williams had threatened to let Plymouth back in but Paul James' side kept their opponents at bay to prevail.

Wolves had earlier fought back from nine points down at half-time to get their noses in front by three points heading into the final quarter.

Robert Thurman led the way for the hosts with 22 points, with Pierre Hampton scoring 27 for the Raiders.
