A “DIFFERENT” Worcester Wolves team will appear at the University of Worcester Arena to take on Glasgow Rocks tomorrow night (7.30pm), according to head coach Paul James.

Worcester fell to a disappointing 78-64 defeat to Sheffield Sharks the last time they played in front of their home fans two weeks ago.

However, James insisted they have put that performance behind them and have been fully focused on finding a way to beat Glasgow.

“We didn’t play our best and weren’t as energised as we would have liked and I think the players know that,” James said.

“We have spoken about it and have moved on from that. But we will see a different team out there tonight against Glasgow and I am sure it will be a great game.”

James said last weekend’s break from competitive action had allowed his players more time to work on “sharing the ball”.

His side’s other defeat came against Leicester Riders after beating Cheshire Phoenix on the opening day of the season.

“We do have a lot of scoring opportunities and people who can score points in a hurry but we need to trust each other and make sure we share the ball,” said James.

“If we do that everybody is going to get what’s coming to them, so we don’t want any one person to not make that extra pass when somebody else is open.

“We also need to be a bit tougher defensively but we have done some work over the last couple of days to put that right.”

With a number of new players adjusting to life at Wolves, James admitted his new-look team were still getting to know each other’s strengths.

“I think there is still a bit of fact-finding going on and finding out where people stand in the pecking order,” he added.

“Sometimes it will just naturally happen and other times coaches have to intervene and say that might not be the best shot for you and maybe we want you to take this shot instead.

“So it’s been about clarifying people’s roles and our expectations of them.”

Forward Deondre McWhorter suffered a “tweaked ankle” earlier this week but he is expected to feature tomorrow night.

Asked whether Wolves were any closer to signing a “big man”, James added: “We are still looking.

"We have had somebody come in and work out for a couple of days but nothing is concrete yet.”
