YEE haa! Country and western music fans will be in their element when the popular Country and Western Festival returns to Stourport Riverside Meadows later this month.

The free event, which has been organised by Wyre Forest District Council, takes place over the weekend of Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20.

Entertainment kicks off at 11am on both days.

Saturday’s acts include Amy Morgan, Tom Collins, Donna Wlyde and Twin Falls. While on the Sunday, performances include Chris James, Kezia Gill and the Texas Tornadoes.

Between the live music, there will be a DJ to keep visitors on their feet dancing. Other entertainment over the weekend includes a fast draw shoot out, face painting and children’s rides. There will also be refreshments, trade stalls and a licensed bar.

Councillor Juliet Smith, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and community protection said: “The County and Western Festival has become a firm favourite in the district council’s event line-up for the summer.

“The two-day event has gone from strength to strength and now attracts Country and Western fans from far and wide.

“The event is always lively and is perfect for a family day out.”

Cllr Smith added: “We are encouraging people to come along dressed for the occasion in Country and Western outfits.

“We would also love to see your photos of the event on social media. Don’t forget to tag the council!”

There are also camping pitches available at the Riverside Meadows for those who want to enjoy the full weekend festival. Pitches cost £15 per night, and are available from 2pm on Friday, August 18, until 10am on Monday, August 21.

The camping pitches must be booked in advance. To book, visit or for more information call customer services on 01562 732928.
