A FUN-FILLED summer for all the family is being promised at a popular Worcestershire tourist attraction.

Worcestershire County Museum will run its programme of craft activities until Friday, September 1.

There will be different attractions each day from Tuesday through to Friday to keep youngsters entertained at the Hartlebury Castle-based site.

Crafty visitors can try their hand at pastel painting, printmaking, brass rubbing, puppet making, weaving, origami and clay modelling.

There will be performances from the Butterfly Puppet Theatre and the chance to play with traditional toys, such as jumping jacks.

Julie Smith, Worcestershire County Council's access and learning officer, said: "Summer is a great time for everybody to enjoy the outdoors. The museum has a host of activities and all weeks promise to be fun filled and entertaining. "

On Sunday, August 13 there will also be a display of haymaking in the Old Moat Coppice between 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Visitors to the site will have the chance to look around the mobile museum with the current "It's Good To Talk" exhibition.

It looks at how science and technology has developed.

Other future events taking place at the museum during the year include heritage open days, offering the chance to go behind the scenes, on Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10.

There will be a celebration of autumn on Saturday and Sunday, October 7 and 8, which will include a farmers' market and demonstrations of spinning.

There will then be a murder and mystery weekendon Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19.

There is an admission charge to the museum and the family activities, which run from 10.30am until 4.30pm with an hour's lunch break at 1pm, are included in the ticket price.
