KIDDERMINSTER rock guitarist Robbie Blunt will be the headline act at a charity Worcestershire festival next month.

The second annual Tenbury Music Festival will take place on June 18 from 12pm to 12am and feature a host of acts across two stages.

Funds will also be raised for this year’s chosen festival charity, The Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Robbie Blunt Band is the co-headliner on the Main Stage alongside Birmingham Steve Gibbons Band. Joining them will be acts including Quill and Bev Bevan, Goodnight Lenin and Dave Onions.

Robbie made his name performing with legendary acts including Robert Plant – who performed at the Tenbury Music Festival last year – and Tom Petty.

Over on the Acoustic Stage, appearing will be performers including Abi K, Glen Wilson and Olivia Peyech.

As well as music, the festival will feature a host of crafts and arts stalls, food and beer tents.

A spokesman for the festival said: “The first event was held last year and organised by a couple of local music lovers who wanted to combine a music festival with raising funds for worthy causes. This year we expect about 1,000 visitors.

“The 2015 Festival was a hard act to follow. However, we have again attracted a whole host of truly talented musicians who are helping support the fund raising in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

“Steve Gibbons band, Robbie Blunt band and Quill are our headliners this year, with fresh young talent in the shape of Goodnight Lenin who played at Glastonbury last year, ADO (Alternative Dubstep Orchestra) an up and coming, seven piece band of musicians from Birmingham.

“Sprinkled with established acts like the Steve Ajao Blues band, Dave Onions, Fabulous Bordellos and Obscure.

“Then, there is the Acoustic stage where there will be an eclectic mix of fresh new talent alongside one or two old hands. It will be a place to chill out to gentler but beautiful music in a peace and love atmosphere.”
