THE popular Kidderminster Male Choir are to sing at a series of concerts - all with a patriotic ‘Last Night of the Proms’ theme.

The concerts take place on Saturday (August 19) at Kidderminster Town Hall - as part of the Kidderminster Arts Festival - followed by Churchill Church on September 9, and St Mary’s Church, in Cleobury Mortimer, on September 22.

The choir will be joined at the Kidderminster Town Hall and Churchill Church concerts by Kidderminster soprano, Hannah McFarland - who will solo three songs, to include ‘Rule Britannia’.

Steve Conway, Kidderminster Male Choir’s secretary, said: “We are delighted to be joined, once again, by Hannah who will bring her fabulous soprano voice to add something special to the evenings.

“Kidderminster Male Choir have a proud tradition of upholding all that is exceptional about the United Kingdom and a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ theme seemed an appropriate choice as our contribution to the Kidderminster Arts Festival.

“The ‘Last Night of the Proms’ has always been a popular theme, whether it be the Royal Albert Hall or the village hall, and the repertoire for these concerts is designed to enhance the enjoyment of the audience.

“We are really looking forward to this short concert season as I am sure will our audiences.”
