A VISUALLY striking production will accentuate the beauty and invention of Mozart’s dazzling tragicomedy as well as history's greatest libertines.

Directed by Kasper Holten, this new Royal Opera Season begins in October with the composer’s engaging masterpiece Don Giovanni screen to the Prestatyn Scala and Cineworld Llandudno.

The impulsive, charismatic Don Giovanni is a serial seducer, accompanied by his long-suffering servant Leporello. But when Don Giovanni commits murder, he unleashes a dark power beyond his control.

Don Giovanni continues to seduce and betray with his usual rapacity. Haunted by the ghost of the murdered man, he decides to invite him to dinner. The ghost urges him to repent – but Don Giovanni refuses.

The opera is renowned for its ever-shifting portrayals of complex characters, fast-moving action and mix of the comic and the heartfelt. A cast of international singers – both familiar and making Royal Opera debuts – under conductor Hartmut Haenchen perform the glorious arias and ensembles of this opera favourite.

To catch the notorious lothario's story head to the Scala and Cineworld on Tuesday, October 8.

Tickets for the Scala are £16, available from prestatyn.merlincinemas.co.uk and £18.80 for Cineworld, available from cineworld.co.uk.
