DREADING the thought of the summer holidays with nothing to do or nowhere to go?

One sure-fire way to keep young ones entertained is Legoland in Windsor.

Which child does not dream of becoming a knight, an explorer, a test driver or a pilot and entering into a fascinating world of adventure?

The park, built for kids, has more than 55 interactive rides, shows and attractions designed for ages two to 12, and offers everything from roller coasters to hands-on building activities to an entire Duplo-themed area for toddlers.

All the rides are Lego-inspired, from the thrills of roller coasters such as The Dragon and the Dragon's Apprentice, to interactive adventures including Laser Raiders, Coast Guard HQ and Lego City Driving School.

However, be warned the queues for some of the more popular rides are very long, some around the one hour mark which might mean missing out on some if you have smaller children.

Stand out attractions were the resort's outdoor water play areas which are great for young, and not so young, ones to cool down.

In Splash Safari, little ones can play amongst their favourite Duplo animal friends, who are brought to life with a host of water features.

For a monstrous drenching, bigger kids can brave the oversized tipping Duplo brick and whizz down the water slides in Drench Towers.

As well as all the rides and normal attractions this year sees a few new additions to the resort.

Lego Movie fans are able to enjoy a Lego Movie 2 Experience which lets people see the film's Apocalypseburg recreated in miniature Lego scale.

The set up is created out of 62,254 Lego bricks, featuring 628 types of Lego elements, utilizing 31 different colours and offers guests a up-close look at Apocalypseburg and movie fans can stand in the same place as characters from the film.

This is particularly good as you don't need to queue to get in and is relatively quiet compared to the rest of the resort.

There is also The Haunted House Monster Party, where families take seats on the ride at a banquet table in a magnificent hall, brimming with ghastly monster party food, and a new 4D movie; Lego City 4D - Officer in Pursuit! which lasts 12 minutes.

While it may not be the most cost effective thing to do to keep young ones entertained during the holidays the attraction does have awesome rides, live shows, shops, activities, and so many other attractions and things to do.

They definitely won't be bored (and it should hopefully tire them out).

And there are a number of sale/cheaper ticket price options including kids go free available at the moment.
