FOUR thousand pounds has been raised by this year’s charity concert series Your Music for good causes in Wyre Forest.
Charities benefiting from the funds include Kemp Hospice, Cancer Research UK Wyre Forest, Kidderminster and District Prostate Cancer Support Group and League of Friends of Kidderminster Hospitals.
The two concerts, which took place last month, showcased the best Midlands musical talent.
Your Music concerts are a re-worked version of the popular Music for You shows which raised more than £150,000 for Wyre Forest charities over 30 years.
The Kidderminster Valentines, West Midland Light Orchestra, Bromsgrove School Big Band, Birmingham Schools Guitar Ensemble and young string instrument players, Bravura, performed over two nights.
Spokeswoman Pam Cunningham said: “We would like to thank the good audiences we had on both nights, the 160 performers who played for free, volunteers from the charitable organisations who gave up their time and the town hall workers who went beyond the call of duty.
“It is the first time we have had young performers in the concerts and they were given such a tremendous applause, the committee feels justified in bringing in the fresh approach.”
