CLEOBURY Methodist Church is being transformed into an art gallery for an arts and craft festival taking place this weekend.

A display of local work in a wide range of styles will be on offer as well as jewellery and gift cards.

The festival is organised by church members Simon and MaryLou Prentice who have spent many years running a similar event in the Abberley area each summer.

A craft fair will take place in the Methodist Hall on Saturday between 10am and 5pm which is free to attend and the art gallery will be open both days.

The Sunday event begins at 1pm until 5pm and refreshments will also be available throughout the weekend.

Funds from the festival will go towards paying off the loan used to install solar panels at the church.

The hall has also recently been improved as a community venue and, in partnership with St Mary’s Youth Project, a youth cafe is being planned.

The church is also hoping to refurbish the kitchen to enable the youth hub to go ahead with sponsorship from South Shropshire Housing Association.
