Seven years on from when the first book was published, The Twilight Saga in print and film has come to an end. Breaking Dawn Part Two was possibly the most anticipated film of the whole series and has definitely awarded Twilight fans with an epic finale finish.

Cheers of excitement could be heard throughout the cinema when Breaking Dawn Part Two emerged on the screen. As fans of the book series know too well, the Cullen coven are accused by the Volturi of creating a vampire child, when in fact it is Bella and Edward’s half human-vampire offspring. The Cullens gather many vampires from all over the globe to witness that no transgression has occurred.

The Twilight finale began exactly from where Breaking Dawn Part One left off, so have a quick recap of the previous film beforehand. The happenings in the beginning of the film felt rushed and undeveloped. Compared with the book, Breaking Dawn Part Two portrays a lot less detail and description. Many of my favourite parts of Stephenie Meyer’s novel were missed out of the film, which left me feeling slightly disappointed. However, this is a common opinion amongst film critics. The book version is almost always preferred over the visual interpretation.

More positively, the superb acting, graphics and direction of the film made up for the vague beginning. Kristen Stewart played a brilliant part as newly formed vampire, Bella Swan. Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) also awarded the Twilight finale with fantastic acting. All of these young talents have proved they were the right actors/actress to be casted for the successful Twilight series.

Breaking Dawn Part Two provides the audience with excellent special effects. As a fantasy film, graphics are a vital component and need to look realistic. The vampire appearances, the werewolves and the battle scenes are all spectacular and completely believable. The director of the Twilight finale, Bill Condon, also produced great camera angles, music, lighting and scripting.

There has been vast media coverage over the surprise ending of Breaking Dawn Part Two, as it differs from the occurrences in the original written version. The ‘twist’ is definitely unexpected and extremely clever. There wasn’t a dry eye in the cinema audience, but were these tears of happiness or sadness? You’ll have to wait and see. The surprise ending shocks viewers over and over again, yet it still manages to stay true to Stephenie Meyer’s novel.

Overall, Twilight fans will love Breaking Dawn Part Two. The saga’s finale doesn’t go into as much depth and detail as the much loved book, but the breath-taking finish definitely makes up for what’s lost. This phenomenal series will stay with many Twilight fans for a long time. I would like to thank the cast and crew of The Twilight Saga for providing us with such an amazing and unforgettable story.
