STOURPORT businesswomen raised £71 for the Bramble Appeal during a special women’s evening to help support the restoration of the canal boat
Six of the town’s businesses sold products including handbags, gloves, food hampers and chocolates at the event, in Church House, Areley Kings.
It was organised by Charlotte Kelly, of Thursfield Solicitors.
The cash raised on the night will be used to help restore the canal boat, based at Stourport Basins, to its former glory.
Ms Kelly said: “I would like to thank everyone who came to the event, especially the stall holders.”
She added the evening was made “extra special” by the donated raffle prizes.
Sarah Lange, manager of Stourport Forward, which owns Bramble, boosted the coffers by buying some chocolate on the night.
She added: “It was a lovely evening. I bought some lovely chocolate from Jill Thorpe, owner of Casa Cocoa, which was supposed to be a Christmas present but it was so delicious I ate it myself.”
Following the success of he night, Ms Lange will be organising a meeting to discuss the idea of setting up a business network for Stourport women.
People interested in attending the meeting should contact 01299 822827 or send an email to stourportforward @btconnect.com
