A SPECIAL ceremony has been organised in Kidderminster to remember victims of the Holocaust.
The event will be held on Sunday at the Holocaust memorial, next to the war memorial outside St Mary and All Saints Church. Those attending will meet at 11.45am for a noon start.
The date marks the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi concentration camp.
Honorary Polish Consul for the West Midlands, Fran Oborski, encouraged Wyre Forest residents to bring a flower to lay.
Representatives of Wyre Forest’s faith communities will be reading prayers and Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier is due to speak.
Members of the district’s Polish community and Dr Baron Mendez da Costa, on behalf of the Kidderminster Jewish community, and the Royal British Legion will also be at the service.
