STAFF and pupils of a Kidderminster school have been celebrating following its latest Ofsted report.
Inspectors judged St Oswald’s CE Primary School as good, which was a step up from its previous inspection in October, 2012 when the school was said to “require improvement”.
Joel Marshall, headteacher, said: “I am delighted with the way staff and pupils have worked hard to improve the school - the good rating from Ofsted is well deserved.
“Since the last report, changes to staff, teaching practices and leadership has resulted in a much improved environment for learning.”
The report said pupil progress was good and standards were rising across the school.
Richard Britton-Voss, chairman of governors, said: “We are all very pleased with the result of the inspection. I have seen this school grow and blossom over the last year and a half as it has become a vibrant and exciting place to learn.
“Our pupils are receiving excellent teaching and support for their learning from enthusiastic and hardworking staff.
“It is a fabulous place to come to school.”
As well as the good inspection from Ofsted, the school has also been given a Sports England grant of £30,000.
Mr Marshall said: “Their decision to award us this £30,000 grant is a testament to the potential they see at St Oswald’s and is terrific news for the school.”
