WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier has given his support to a Government consultation to improve mobile phone network coverage.
On November 5, culture secretary Sajid Javid launched a consultation into tackling areas of the UK with poor mobile phone network coverage called ‘non-spots’.
The consultation, set to close on November 24, will be talking to the four major mobile phone operators and the public.
Mr Garnier said: “Residents of Wyre Forest, especially in Cookley and Wolverley, are familiar with poor or intermittent mobile network coverage, and will welcome the outcomes of this initiative.
“Being able to make phone calls and receive emails remotely are crucial to many local businesses and individuals.
“The results of the consultation should help them to deliver, and improve economic security, and suffer less frustration from inadequate coverage.”
