"ONESIES" were the order of the day when youngsters from Kidderminster Lions football club took on Cookley.
The goal for the under eights' match at the Lions' base - Chester Road Sports Club - was to mark World Diabetes Day.
And it was close to the hearts of the Lions team because their player Mitchell Andrewartha (correct), aged seven, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last season.
"The team have fully supported Mitchell, who has never let his condition affect his sporting success," said club spokesman Lois Morgan.
"Kidderminster Lions under eights would like to thank everybody for their support, especially the opposition, Cookley under eights, who really got on board with the fundraiser."
She added that players, coaches and the opposition donned onesies for the match, which helped raise more than £80 for the Junior Diabetes Research Fund.
